If you haven't registered yet but you are interested in joining us in Peterborough, we encourage you to join the waitlist as we may possibly have more spots opening up in the near future.

Time to order your TBN jersey and other kit items

Members are encouraged to show their team colours by ordering a new TBN jersey or other kit items. To view the size chart and place your order go here. You will find clickable images for the various items (jerseys, gilets, jackets, shorts). Select each item you wish to order to have them placed in your shopping cart, then submit your order. Orders are inclusive of HST. The order deadline is June 7.

To try on the jerseys and shorts in advance of placing your order, the fit kit will be available at the Spring Kickoff on May 4. In the event of inclement weather TBN volunteers will still be at the Kickoff with the sample jerseys for fitting purposes. And as we did last year, ride leaders from last year are eligible for a $30 discount on one item.

Social events & Overnight Trips

Spring Kickoff and Spring Fling, May 4. TBN's annual Spring Kickoff is back. Don’t miss this opportunity to eat a hearty breakfast, socialize and ride with members you haven’t seen for a while. The Kickoff is free for members and non-member guests. All participants must register before May 2. Also, please consider registering as a volunteer as we need help setting up the food and cleaning up afterwards. That same evening, members are gathering for the club's first Spring Fling. We could still use a few volunteers to help with setup and cleanup. If you are interested, please email Ken at social@tbn.ca. For more information and to register for the Kickoff and Spring Fling, go to the Social Events page and the calendar. And keep an eye out for emails in case weather forces us to postpone.

Niagara Bike and Hike, May 17-20. This mid-May weekend is your chance to get the 2024 cycling season off to a great start by joining one of TBN’s most popular series of rides along the quiet roads and off-road paved trails of the Niagara Region. Registration is now open via the calendar. For more information, check out Victoria Day Niagara Bike & Hike.

TBN Pub Quiz, May 30. The TBN Pub Quiz series continues on the third or fourth Thursday of each month at one of Toronto’s best and most interesting venues, the Prenup Pub. Registration for the May 30 event is now open via the calendar. More details on the Pub Quiz series are available here.

Niagara Wine Ride, June 22-23. Join TBN for this new trip from either Burlington GO or Mimico GO stations to Niagara-on-the-Lake. On the Sunday, you will have a chance to sample wines at local Wineries. Registration opens May 5 at 8 am. Check out Niagara Wine Ride for more details.

Finger Lakes Tour, June 28-July 1. It has been a long time since TBN has been cycling to this New York State area, and the beautiful scenery is finally calling us for a return trip. Registration opens May 4 at 7:30 am. Check out Finger Lakes Tour for more information.

Lake Erie Breezes Simcoe trip, July 13-14. Highlights of this trip include the French Bakery in Port Dover, small microbreweries, bike paths to Waterford, and antique shops in town. Registration opens June 1. Check out the calendar and Lake Erie Breezes Simcoe Trip for more information.

Italo Bravo takes on TBN Communications role

TBN is pleased to announce that Italo Bravo has joined the Board as our new Communications director. Italo is a technology professional and cycling enthusiast who joined TBN in 2022. His professional career spreads across multiple large organizations such as IBM, Scotiabank, Hewlett Packard and the Bank of Montreal, where he has held progressive senior management positions. He also spent some years as a university professor forming new generations of Computer Science professionals. He has volunteered for TBN at multiple activities and is a member of the Cyclon planning team. One of his priorities will be raising the social media profile for our club. Contact Italo at publicity@tbn.ca.

New: TBN fees may now be paid via e-transfer

Invoices for membership applications and renewals are now payable in two different ways. If you select "Pay Online" you will pay via PayPal. If you select "Invoice Me" you must pay via an e-transfer to treasurer@tbn.ca. Be sure to include the invoice number within the comment field of your e-transfer.

Note that online payments are registered immediately, but e-transfer payments require a manual processing step to update our payments database. Please allow 48 hours for processing.

TBN's cycling routes: We need your input

Do you want to contribute to the club by creating routes, but don't know how? Are you a new Program Coordinator and need to know how to maintain your routes or add existing routes? Perhaps you have an idea for a TBN weekend trip with multiple rides throughout the weekend, and you want to put together a set of routes for this trip. If you fit any of these descriptions, then watch this TBN educational video on YouTube, containing a combination of presentation and live demo, using TBN's Club account in RideWithGPS..

The critical message of this video is that no one in TBN needs to pay for their own RideWithGPS account for TBN-related usage. TBN pays for a RideWithGPS club account, which grants our members the privileges of RideWithGPS "Premium" level. This includes TBN members who follow club routes, and also route creators/editors.

Bike for Brain Health, June 2. TBN is aiming to recruit 30 ambassadors and 30 marshals to take on special roles during this year's Bike for Brain Health, June 2 along a friendly, closed Don Valley Parkway/Gardiner Express. These volunteers, who must be TBN members, will ride in pairs to perform their duties, and all will be invited to a buffet lunch after the ride. TBN’s coordinators for our involvement are Terry Walsh and Jerry Finch. If you are interested in volunteering, email touring@tbn.ca.

Brain Injury Society of Toronto charity rides

Two charity rides in support of the Brain Injury Society of Toronto are coming up this fall. For anyone interested, more information on both of these rides can be found in the TBN General Forum.

Tanya's Ride: Sept. 7, starting at 9 am in Albion Hills Park. There is an 80 km gravel route and a 75 km road route. Email Keith Luder at kvluder@gmail.com.

BIST Heroes Run, Walk, Roll or Bike Event: Sept. 29, starting at 8 am in Wilket Creek Park. This is a family-oriented ride with routes of 15/35 and 75 km.

How to cancel a reservation for an event

Due to an issue we have discovered on Apple devices, we have had to revert to the original wording for the link used to cancel your reservation for an event. If you need to cancel your reservation for an event, see the Cancel-my-registration page for details.

Event registration reminder

Please remember to login to the TBN website prior to registering for our Events. If you are not logged in, the system does not know who you are, and will only offer you the Guest Rider registration choice. Also, when you are logged into the TBN website, a lot of members-only content appears.
