Heat note:  Although the heat and humidity won't be quite as punishing as last week's Oakville ride it will still be hotter than usual. After the start there won't be an opportunity for water until the lunch stop so please remember to bring a full size water bottle, preferably two.

Air Quality note: Environment Canada has issued a warning about the air quality due to the presence of wildfire smoke from the praries. They recommend that anyone with respiritory issues, chronic conditions, or aged 65 or older refrain from strenuous outdoor activity. If this is relevant to you, you may wish to reconsider participating in today's ride.

For those of us not at Cyclon we have this TBN Urban Roller ride. We will head north to enjoy the gently rolling hills around the Richmond Hill area. As you'll see, it's called Richmond Hill for a reason. We will see a lot of different types of suburbia, but also some of the older and prettier sections. The route was revised last year and was considered an improvement. The revision eliminated a problematic section along the King-Vaughan line that was only two lanes wide with 70-80 km/hr traffic and a loose gravel shoulder. It also eliminated some hills, although not all of them. It also took us through a much nicer section of Richmond Hill, more in keeping with the Urban Roller rides. After lunch at Tim's it's a long ride down Keele that is mostly downhill, a reward of sorts for the earlier stuff.

Lunch is at Tim Hortons a bit past the halfway point . You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.

Meet for a 10 am departure from the commuter parking lot of the Finch TTC station, located on Hendon Avenue, on the west side of Yonge Street, one block north of Finch Avenue West.

If the ride is cancelled due to weather or for other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check before leaving for the ride.
