The Paris to Cambridge Rail Trail is another car-free path. This ride starts at Paris Inn in Paris and follows the Trail into downtown Cambridge (formerly Galt) where we will have a break at Tim Hortons. In Cambridge take note of the stone works along the Grand River, and grand old buildings such as the Public Library, one of many built in the USA and Canada by Carnegie. Plan on a lunch/apres at Paris Inn to celebrate the finish!
Carnegie built the Galt Public Library, 34 Water St, in 1903. Its future is in doubt.
Since this is planned as an Advanced Urban Roller-level ride as well as a Tourist-level ride, expect the average group speed to be in the range of 20 kph.
Start location: Paris Inn, 24 Mechanic St, Paris.
